About Donna

Donna has been in the substance abuse/mental health field for 20+ years, gaining experience in a variety of settings, including residential, acute care, community health and outpatient. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Massachusetts and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and a Massachusetts Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has treated adults, seniors and families experiencing major life disruption due to substance and behavioral addiction. She has extensive experience in group facilitation, covering such topics as women and trauma, self-esteem, relapse prevention and support for families of substance-dependent individuals.

In addition to substance abuse, Donna specializes in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders and co-dependency issues, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and motivational approaches. She views counseling as a collaborative venture which serves to increase independence, knowledge, and positive regard for self and others. Donna is a member of the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association
