About Betje
Betje Noack joined Harborside Counseling Services in the Newburyport office in December 2007. A psychology and art major in college, Betje also holds a Master's Degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University. In her psychotherapy practice, she draws largely on the theories of existential and humanistic psychologists, including Irvin Yalom, Victor Frankl, Abraham Maslow, Rollo May and Carl Rogers. The writings of Carol Gilligan, Leston Havens, and Alice Miller have also been influential to her. Betje values the human, creative, and spontaneous nature of the therapeutic relationship, and considers herself a supportive "fellow traveler" in the journey toward a more authentic, self-actualized, free and integrated self.
