George Gorman has been working in the fields of counseling and psychotherapy for nearly forty years, initially working with difficult teenagers and their families. He has counseled many adults, both men and women, dealing with a wide variety of stress, depression, trauma and other issues, including addictions, and has led men's and coed therapy groups for the past fifteen years. Besides his Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and in Social Work from Boston College, he has also done postgraduate study in psychology, advanced group therapy and men's issues. He has taught at Salem State College and Tufts University. In former years, he was a steelworker, plumber's apprentice, landscaper, and fish cutter and also worked as a senior training specialist for Citibank. He has a private practice at the Beverly office of Harborside Counseling Services where he has worked since 2003.
